Walking Canes and Wheelchairs for Sale!

I'm feeling very strong for Round 3, stronger than I ever have: This past weekend I was able to walk to fanuil hall with the nieces and WITHOUT a cane or wheel chair. And on Sunday I sailed and passed my Helmsman test at the Yacht Club which allows me to take a guest out on the water in all wind conditions. That was tiring!

For the Helmsman test they make you take out a boat on your own and run a course in high winds. The water must be white capping! I agree with taking the skills tests; however, sailing alone in high wind conditions is difficult by itself, let alone running a course with my an aching back and numb leg. Nevertheless I passed with flying colors, leaping from one side of the boat to the other side of the boat and pulling in the sheets with all my might!

Today began the waiting process for getting admitted to the hospital but when I called in the morning they said I would probably b admitted tomorrow. So I took my mom sailing with my newly acquired sailing rating. It was a beautiful day and the wind was just strong enough to gingerly push us around the Charles River while we talked and soaked in the sun. Much more relaxing than Sunday's sail :)

Though I couldn't start my treatments, this was a great way to relax before getting admitted tomorrow.

  5. Such cute girls, eh?! We all had so much fun with you, Autie, and Benson last week. Now I'm glad our flight was cancelled on Sunday so we could spend one more day with you guys. I know the next few days will not be the most pleasant, but try to keep your head up high. You are unbelievably positive and you are expected to have "Debbie Downer" days too. We love you very much and can't wait until our next visit whether it's Boston or Dallas :).

  6. Jeff,
Maybe you could trade in a wheelchair for a golf cart? At least you know how to drive those around apartment complexes.

We're thinking about you all the time...wish I could hide in Zac's suitcase for his trip up to see you. We love you!!!

  7. Jeff, What an amazing account!! You are certainly doing more than just keeping up your strength. I'm terribly impressed. I owe you pictures of lions and what not. I haven't forgotten. Keep taking care.

  9. Yipee! I did it. After several failed attempts and lost comments, I finally reset my password and have a "strong" one again! Remind to tell you so I don't forget it again! I just left your room so you can get your in-house massage and reflexology treatment. Wish you could get it everyday and not just on Thursdays. You deserve any pampering you can get. I know we were all disappointed you got bumped from starting Tuesday but I gotta tell you that I have immensely loved getting to spend Monday on the sailboat with you. Was a little afraid of capsizing but you are one hell of a skipper and it was smooth sailing. Yesterday even my legs hurt after our almost 4 mile stroll down newbury and boylston street. Beautiful 85 degree day. Anyway I just want you to know that once a mommy, always a mommy and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else but here with you, autie and bensen. You truly are the bravest, strongest and most remarkable person even on those very sad days we all have. I don't tell you enough how proud I am of you and how proud I am to be your mom - especially when they think I am your sister!! You are most definitely my favorite son!!!! Love you, mom
